2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact support immediately.

3. The Service

HopIn provides a platform that connects riders and independent drivers for transportation services. Availability may vary by location, time, demand, and operational constraints.

4. Rider Rules

• Be respectful and follow applicable laws and safety instructions.
• Provide accurate pickup/drop-off information.
• No illegal items or activities in connection with the Service.
• Follow in-app policies regarding cancellations and conduct.

5. Driver Rules

Drivers using the driver app are independent providers responsible for meeting all legal requirements (including licensing, permits, roadworthiness, and insurance where applicable). HopIn may require documentation and may suspend or deactivate accounts for non-compliance or safety reasons.

6. Fares, Fees, and Payments

Fares may be displayed upfront in the app and can vary due to distance, time, demand, and other factors. Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. You authorise us (and our providers) to charge your selected payment method for completed trips and applicable fees.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation policies (including any fees) may be shown in the app and can depend on timing and driver acceptance. If you believe you were incorrectly charged, contact support with trip details for review.

8. Safety, Support, and Disputes

Use in-app safety features (SOS, trip sharing) where available. For disputes (e.g., fares, conduct, incidents), contact support. We may use trip information and communications to investigate and resolve issues.

9. Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorised access.
• Use the Service for unlawful purposes.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
• Copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service except as permitted by law.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including logos, trademarks, and content, is owned by HopIn or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your personal use (riders) or for providing trips via the platform (drivers) subject to these Terms.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, HopIn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or for safety, legal, or operational reasons. Where appropriate, we’ll notify you through the app or by email.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable South African law.
